The Loss

Stepping Up

Well, the All Blacks have finally dismissed the shroud of misfortune that is, or rather was, the RWC quarterfinal loss against France, and have reclaimed their title as the untouchables of every non-World Cup year. Richie McCaw has been just outstanding with countless tackles per game and 'lead by example' workaholic attitude. Dan Carter, with his astute tactical kicking and near faultless goal-kicking has rediscovered his form of 2005 in the match versus the British Lions. The halves also deserve an honourable mention. Piri Weepu has broken into the AB's again and Jimmy Cowan has won his battle with booze; it is just a question of whether he can keep from drinking again. That cracker of a game against the Wallabies which won him the Man of the Match award was an example of what he can do when he is not intoxicated. However, it is the All Blacks as a team that really captivates me, so good on them. Keep going hard, boys!
